Omega turns its head once again to the Dark Side… of the Moon, of course. A now-classic member of the best fake Omega Speedmaster watches collection, the Dark Side of the Moon lineup, also known as the DSOTM, has been around for over 10 years now, always with a cool, monochromatic take on the brand’s emblematic space chronograph, made in ceramic. Omega now brings four new and appealing editions of the Dark Side of the Moon concept, honouring the Apollo 8 mission and astronaut Jim Lovell’s observations of our nearest and dearest satellite. Dark-Dark, Dark-Red, Dark-White or Apollo 8-themed Grey Side of the Moon, all now fitted with slimmer cases and Master Chronometer movements… let’s discover what this new ceramic collection for 2025 is all about.
Background
In 1968, Swiss Omega replica watches played a small part in a historical event: the Apollo 8 Space Mission. With command module Pilot James A. Lovell Jr. (also the commander of the infamous Apollo 13 mission) uttering the famous words “we’ll see you on the other side,” Apollo 8 became the first crew to travel on the side of the moon that’s always hidden from us, the Dark Side. With no radio or satellite contact, the crew was entirely cut off from Earth, which must have been a nerve-racking experience.
Omega used this historic event as inspiration for a very special range of Speedmaster watches; the top copy Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches, making its debut in 2013. Using black zirconium oxide ceramic for the case and many other external parts, it provided a striking yet stealthy look for the fabled Speedy. Ever since, the Speedmaster DSOTM sub-collection has expanded into a Grey Side of the Moon, a White Side of the Moon, and even a Blue Side of the Moon. The latest edition, the revamped Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8, was just the first step into the evolution of the DSOTM collection, as we’re seeing more today, with 4 versions (with a total of 7 references).
What makes the 1:1 clone Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches special?
While there are several editions with different specifications, some elements are identical across the whole range. First and foremost, the use of ceramic for the case and, often too, for the dial. Second, a monochromatic approach with a full-black (often) theme, but also editions in grey, white or blue. Most of these watches use modern, two-register movements (except the hand-wound Apollo 8), and a common feature is the large size of the case, measuring 44.25mm – I’m still wishing for a blend of the classic 42mm Moonwatch with the DSOTM concept, resulting in a black ceramic Speedmaster Professional…
If you put the Apollo 8 version aside – it’s always been a special take on the DSOTM concept – all watches are playing on the same contemporary vibe, adding colours and textures inspired by the moon or NASA’s lunar missions, and a rubber or textile strap. But now the collection expands once more with not one but four watches in total. The evolution concerns multiple aspects of the cheap Omega replica watches, with redesigned architecture with slimmer profiles, the latest Co-Axial chronograph movements by the brand (the previous DSOTM watches were still using older generation movements), refined ceramic parts and new straps.
The 2025 Swiss made fake omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches collection
The Speedmaster DSOTM was one of the last collections not to have received the brand’s latest technical advancements, and it was still using the older Calibre 9300, not Master Chronometer certified. This was true for the classic version, but also the Sedna Black, Pitch Black, Black-Black, Vintage Black and Grey Side iterations. The entire lineup is now revamped, making room for these 4 references that are now powered by more modern calibre with, of course, Co-Axial escapement and Master Chronometer certification.
The Dark-Red Speedmaster DSOTM
For the occasion of this launch, we had the opportunity to have the new Dark-Red edition in the studio, the perfect copy Omega watches that you can see in our live photos here, but also in the video at the top of this article. The design is unexpectedly Speedmaster of course, with an asymmetrical profile, twisted lyre lugs and a fixed tachymeter bezel. This Dark-Red reference is housed, as expected, in a 44.25mm case made of black ceramic. Omega indicates having refined the finish process for the ceramic case, with a new bevelled polished ceramic process.
Framing the box-shaped sapphire crystal is a fixed black ceramic polished bezel, with a Liquidmetal tachymeter scale. The pushers and the crown are also made of black ceramic, the latter having the Omega logo in Liquidmetal too. But one important thing to note has to do with the proportions of the case. While retaining the larger diameter of the DSOTM collection, this new Dark-Red edition is much thinner than before, at 13.02mm, thanks to a redesigned profile and, mostly, the adoption of a hand-wound movement. For the record, the 2013 edition and all subsequent automatic versions were rated at 16.14mm in thickness. Lug-to-lug measurement remains identical at 50mm, and the water-resistance has not changed either, at 50m.
Moving to the dial, the AAA+ clone Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches Dark-Red opts for a finely grained laser-finished ceramic base. The black-on-black tone means it’s a proper Dark Side of the Moon, with the only hint of colour coming from the grey printed scripts and numerals, and the red Speedmaster logo and chronograph seconds hand. The recessed chronograph subdials, along with the blackened applied markers, add a sense of depth to the dial. And don’t worry, telling the time at night is still possible thanks to black Super-LumiNova inserts all around, despite the all-black theme of the collection.
The main reason for this new version’s thinness has to do with the buy Omega replica watches. Indeed, not only does Omega adopt the latest Master Chronometer technology for all 4 versions of the DSOTM, but this Dark-Red model now comes with a hand-wound movement, the calibre 9908 – a no-date, two-register chronograph movement that we’ve seen in the Speedmaster Chronoscope. Characterised by its new ¾ plate, it incorporates the brand’s latest innovations and can resist magnetic fields up to 15,000 Gauss. This chronograph, with column wheel and vertical clutch, has two barrels mounted in series for a power reserve of 60 hours, houses Omega’s co-axial escapement with a silicon balance spring and runs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations/hour. The view through the caseback is also new, as if we have classic Geneva waves in Arabesque, the whole movement has been given the black touch with almost all parts (mainplate, bridges…) coated in black.
The final touch comes from a new rubber strap, well integrated within the whole design of the case. The top surface has a brushed-like texture, but the back reveals a cool touch, in the shape of a lunar surface pattern. It is closed by a foldover clasp in ceramic (top cover) and ceramised titanium for the frame-spring folders. This Dark-Red edition of the best quality fake Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches is priced at CHF 12,500 (excl. VAT) or EUR 15,800 (incl. VAT).

The Dark-White Speedmaster DSOTM
Moving to three other editions in the new DSOTM collection, we start with the most classic of them all, the new Dark-White Swiss movement duplicate Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches, which is the evolution of the original model released in 2013. This version, with a black ceramic case of 44.25mm and 15.09mm in thickness (1.1mm thinner than before), is characterised by its silvery-white accents on the dial (18k white gold hands and markers), bringing improved legibility during the day. The dial is here made of polished black ceramic and features a date window at 6 o’clock. Touches of red are found on the Speedmaster logo and the tip of the second hand.
The main evolution comes from the best-selling imitation Omega watches, as the older calibre 9300 has been replaced by the more modern calibre 9900, which is now certified Master Chronometer by METAS. This automatic calibre with column wheel features two barrels for 60 hours of power reserve, runs at 4Hz and includes a practical time-zone function. To remain consistent with the colour scheme of the dial, the movement is here rhodium-plated. This Dark-White version is available on an integrated rubber strap or a nylon fabric strap, both closed by a foldover clasp in ceramic and titanium. Prices are CHF 12,200 (excl. VAT) or EUR 15,400 (incl. VAT).

VAT) or EUR 15,400 (incl. VAT)
The Dark-Dark Speedmaster DSOTM
Next to the automatic Dark-White is also a new all-black model, the Dark-Dark Swiss movement bootleg Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches. While sharing identical specifications with the model above, this new version plays on pure monochromatic vibes and matte style, with a brushed ceramic bezel fitted with a black enamel tachymeter scale. Of course, where the black theme shines the most is on the dial, which is all about black and dark grey elements. The base is here matte with a laser sandblasting process, and paired with diamond-polished bevelled indexes that are blackened and filled with black Super-Luminova. All the printings are done in black, and even the date plays on the dark grey and black theme.
This 44.25mm x 15.09mm version is powered by the same automatic, Master Chronometer calibre 9900 as the Dark-White, but it’s been treated here in full black (plates, bridges and rotor) to remain consistent with the dark theme. This edition is available either on a black rubber strap with a lunar pattern or a black nylon strap, closed by a foldover clasp in black ceramic and ceramised titanium. The Dark-Dark top quality cloning Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches is priced at CHF 12,500 (excl. VAT) or EUR 15,800 (incl. VAT).

VAT) or EUR 15,800 (incl. VAT)
The Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon
Last but certainly not least is a new grey edition of the AAA++ knock off Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon watches. Similar to the black and yellow Apollo 8 special edition from last year, it now comes in a slightly sleeker version (less accents, less references to space) and in a full grey colour scheme, starting with the 44.25mm case in polished and brushed grey ceramic, with a matching brushed bezel with laser-engraved tachymeter scale filled with Super-LumiNova. The grey colour pays tribute to Jim Lovell’s historic observation during Apollo 8 that “the Moon is essentially grey,” a phrase that’s engraved on the caseback.
The dial of this Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon (GSOTM) is, for the most part, identical to the Apollo 8 version, with the visible main-plate of the cheap replica watches, decorated with a laser-ablated lunar surface, and now a grey coating. The minute flange and counters are grey-toned, with white SLN-filled applied markers and hands. You won’t find yellow accents or the miniature Apollo rocket here anymore, as everything has been replaced by more traditional and cleaner elements. The monochromatic look continues on the strap, either in grey nylon fabric or grey rubber, with a grey ceramic and titanium folding clasp.
Under the sapphire back, and once again decorated with a laser-ablated lunar pattern, is the hand-wound calibre 3869, an evolution of the classic movement found in the Moonwatch. This Master Chronometer engine received the same upgrades as the 2021 Speedmaster Professional, including a Co-Axial escapement, a silicon hairspring, a 50-hour power reserve, a 0/+5 seconds/day accuracy, and a METAS certification. This new Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon is priced at CHF 12,800 (excl. taxes) or EUR 16,200 (incl. taxes).
Quick facts: 44.25mm x 12.97mm x 50mm – brushed/polished grey ceramic case, brushed grey ceramic bezel with white SLN scale, sapphire crystal on both sides, 50m water-resistant – grey skeletonised dial, grey-toned indexes and hands filled with Super-LumiNova, all grey printings and movement – Calibre 3869, in-house, Co-Axial Master Chronometer, hand-wound, 26 jewels, 3Hz, 50h power reserve, three-register chronograph with cam-lever mechanism – grey textured rubber or nylon fabric strap, folding clasp – reference 310.92.44.50.06.001 (nylon) or 310.92.44.50.06.002 (rubber) – CHF 12,800 (excl. taxes) or EUR 16,200 (incl. taxes)
